With the completion of many whole-genome sequences, new types of genome-wide experiments are now possible. Tiling arrays offer a physical readout of a genome and can be used as a discovery tool for measuring transcriptional activity, mapping sites of protein/DNA interaction in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) experiments, and methylome analysis.

Tiling arrays feature non-overlapping or partially overlapping probes that are either spaced at regular intervals, or cover the entire genome from end to end. This enables the researcher to interrogate an entire genome in high resolution and with an unbiased approach. Transcriptional regulator binding, DNA methylation, and transcriptional activity can all be analyzed without reference to prior annotations. This is a significantly different approach than other array designs which use prior annotations to interrogate a selected subset of a genome-and thus are dependent on the completeness and quality of those annotations. Tiling arrays are a discovery tool that can be used to verify existing annotations and to discover novel transcripts.

We offer the following technologies

Support Modes

Affymetrix and Agilent tiling array technologies are available in User lab mode. According to the specific agreement tiling array experiment can be carried out also as a Service.
