Dorothea Rutishauser, Dr.

Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Expert - FGCZ R&D

Doro was responsible for all ion trap MS systems, Q-TOF MS, HPLC systems, and everything else in proteomics. Since June 2007, Doro has been working on a FGCZ research project and the implementation of new methods.

Stefan Zoller, Dr.

Bioinformatics Expert Genomics/Transcriptomics – FGCZ User Lab

Stefan supported microarray analysis and data handling using the Rosetta Resolver software package. Together with Hubert he was responsible for programming and supporting MAGMA and other in-house software.

Dieter Joho

Data Integration Expert - FGCZ

Dieter was involved in data integration projects and is responsible for the project database. Together with Can he developed and implemented the FGCZ content management and data retrieval system B-Fabric.

Bertran Gerrits, Dr.

Applications and Technology Researcher Proteomics – FGCZ R&D

Bertran worked at the FGCZ in technology development and research.

Ulrich Wagner, PhD

Bioinformatics Expert Genomics/Transcriptomics – FGCZ User Lab

Ulrich was responsible for all aspects of bioinformatics in the area of genomics and transcriptomics. Together with Hubert he supported microarray analysis and interpretation, as well as data handling and management for the respective workflows.

Mike Scott, M.S.

Systems Expert Proteomics – FGCZ User Lab

Mike was responsible for Biacore (Surface Plasmon Resonance) applications, support and training and was the main contact for 2D Electrophoresis workflows. Mike also supported both FGCZ Tecan liquid handling robots, including the design of customized applications.

Ermir Qeli, Dr.

Bioinformatics Expert Proteomics

Ermir was responsible for proteomics bioinformatics, focusing mainly on data mining, analysis, and visualization in the context of the C-MOP project.

Christian Ahrens, PhD

Bioinformatics Expert Proteomics / Functional Genomics

Christian was responsible for proteomics bioinformatics, with a special emphasis on data mining and analysis, and integration of proteomics data with other large-scale functional genomics datasets. Together with Hansruedi Baetschmann, he was developing a novel directed shotgun proteomics data analysis workflow that helps to achieve high proteome identification coverages.
PhD: 1995, Oregon State University

Frank Potthast, PhD

Bioinformatics Scientist Proteomics – FGCZ User Lab

Frank was responsible for all aspects of bioinformatics in the area of proteomics, ranging from data generation to data evaluation, including research on new methods of data processing until March 2006.

Stefan Birrer

IT Support – FGCZ

Stefan supported the FGCZ IT infrastructure and worked together with Marco, Dieter and Can on the setup and maintenance of the computing hard- and software until June 2005.

After leaving FGCZ he did an internship at Verisign USA.

Etzard Stolte, Dr. Inf.

Head of Data Integration - FGCZ

Until November 2004, Etzard has been responsible for the development and implementation of a data integration concept at the FGCZ, known today as B-Fabric. He also set up the informatics infrastructure of the FGCZ and implemented professional IT standards at the center.
