Research

We conduct methodological research in functional genomics technologies, bioinformatics and data integration. On the experimental technology side as well as on the informatics side. We develop, implement and validate new methods that advance the accuracy and usability of functional technologies.

Research projects are either conducted as FGCZ internal projects or in collaboration with an FGCZ user group.

The current and recent projects are:

• Analysis-Driven Experimentation: statistical data analysis to improve the proteome coverage of shotgun proteomics
• B-Fabric: a framework for data management and information integration
• MAGMA: a web application for the quick but nevertheless powerful statistical analysis of two-channel data
• MAP: using association rules to detect gene sets that are coregulated throughout subsets of conditions
• Peptoscope: prototype application to specifically detect PTMs
• Phylochip: statistical strain identification with diagnostic microarrays
• Surface Chemistry: optimized coatings for microarray glass slides
